“Memorandum of understanding”
has been signed by the chair of Alborz ICT University Senate
and Wollongong University Pro Vice-chancellor (Wollongong,
Australia).

Wollongong University was amongst the first universities
in Australia that started exploring new educational
technologies in general and internet-based education
to enhance and complement its on-campus education
in particular.
University of Wollongong has been awarded the University
of the Year for several years in competition with
over 50 public universities in Australia.
In 2005, University of Wollongong was selected by
the Austrlian Ministry of Higher Education as the
best University in Teaching and Learning

Alborz ICT University focuses on meeting expanding
demands for Higher Education programs both in the Iran
and in the region (Farsi speaking countries as well
as regional Islamic countries). Given extent of the
work; it is evident that the formation of a partnership
between Alborz ICT University and the following sectors
is required and has been considered:
-
Traditional Iranian universities, public and private,
sharing academic staff and physical education space,
-
reputable and established overseas universities
with proven track records on using educational technology
and virtual learning environments in their campus
education, and
-
local and international private companies in technology,
distance learning, publishers and investors to support
University expansion plan.

Alborz University of Information and Communication Technology
will collaborate with foreign universities in different
ways. Attempts have already been made to establish collaborations
with universities in Europe, Asia and North America.
Among items of interests in areas of corporation and collaboration
with foreign universities joint degree offering and exchange
of staff and students have been highlighted. Other items
include;

Provision of mutual access to learning and training facilities,
-
Provision for Alborz PhD students to complete part of
their study at foreign universities,
-
Encouraging cooperation in respective Master and PhD research
programs,
-
Provision for exchanging information including educational
resources, research publications and papers of mutual
interest,
-
Encouraging mutual visits for research, lectures, and
consultation
