ICT University uses an advanced Web-based Platform for teaching
and learning, commonly known as a Learning Management System
(LMS), to manage virtual classes and put its courseware
on the Internet. The LMS that is accessed via the University
dedicated Portal, is an essential piece of software, which
will keep track of all the registered students and their
progress. Alborz students have to log in the LMS daily to
do their exercises, quizzes and assignments. They will also
find a wealth of reading material as well as links to other
resources. The navigation through the LMS is very easy and
self-explanatory.
The Learning Management System provides student access and
instructor (academic staff) access to the virtual classroom.
Online instructors are actively involved in the coursework,
giving assignments, grading and taking attendance. Instructors
also lead forum discussions that allow students to post
questions or topics that will be answered by the instructor,
or one of the other students.

Thanks to the University LMS the amount of interaction
between the instructor and students at Alborz ICT
University will be normally more than what students
at traditional universities are experiencing.

To
start an online degree program at Alborz ICT University,
students need a computer that provides an access for extended
periods of time and at least a 56K modem connection to Internet.
Many classes require that students have a word processing
program for online coursework and a series of supporting
materials on CD as well as simulation programs that will
be distributed among registered students free of charge.
All other additional materials will be outlined by the online
course instructor at the beginning of each course (subject).
